The Thing Inside is an origin quest for Lohse in Divinity: Original Sin II. The quest objectives are available when selecting Lohse as an origin character.

Objectives

Quest content may vary based on party choices.

Silence the voice in your head.
  • A bad gig landed me on the wrong side of the Magisters, but how bad can Fort Joy can be? If the voice in my head shuts up, I should be okay.
Get help.
  • An island of Sourcerers. Maybe one of them can help me with my crowded brain.
Assassinate the Advocate.
Jahan will help me, but first I must do him a favour - go to a haunted island and kill 'the Advocate'.
Report back to Jahan.
  • The Advocate is dead. Jahan will be pleased.
Learn the name of the demon.
  • Jahan showed me how to better master my Source powers. Now I need the name of the demon haunting Bloodmoon Island.
  • Jahan told me that the demon he seeks is the same demon I hear in my head. Once I find this demon's name, he will exorcise me.
Report back to Jahan.
  • I discovered the name of the demon haunting Bloodmoon Island: Adramahlihk. Now Jahan can perform the exorcism!
Journey to the city of Arx.
  • The exorcism failed, but Jahan asked to travel with me to Arx, where the demon is hiding.
  • With Jahan, I'll travel to Arx and hunt down the demon.
Speak to Malady in Arx.
  • Malady told me that my demon lives in Arx. While I hunt Dallis, Malady will look for a way to weaken him.
Travel to Adramahlihk's home plane.
  • I met Malady near the arch-demon Ardramahlihk's house. She has found a way to his home plane - there, we may be able to weaken him.
  • I decided to travel with Malady to the demon's home realm. There, I'll find a way to weaken him.
Face the demon. Face Adramahlihk.
  • I snuffed out the souls in the demon's home plane. He'll be weaker now, and easier to kill.
Divinity beckons...
  • I defeated the demon. But it's not over. I had a vision: souls haunted by demons, as I was. I could abandon them... or I could ascend.
