Artefacts of the Tyrant is a quest in Act One of Divinity: Original Sin II. It is initiated upon retrieving your first piece of Tyrant armor, typically Tyrant's Stride.

Objectives

Find the ancient armour.
  • We read of the 'Artefacts of the Tyrant'. A powerful suit of armour, it must be equipped in its entirety, lest the armour be cursed.
Find the rest of the armour.
  • One senses that the 'Tyrant's Stride' may hinder, not help.
  • Holding the 'Tracks of the Tyrant' gives one an odd crippling sensation.
  • A scorching aura burns from the 'Heart of the Tyrant'. It may be too hot to handle.
  • There's something demonic about the 'Tyrant's Helm'.
  • The 'Hands of the Tyrant' have a strange, pestilential aura.

There are 5 armor pieces in total:

  • Corrupted Tyrant's Helm - located in Braccus' Armoury after infusing the shrine of Braccus Rex with source in the Hollow Marshes
  • Heart of the Tyrant - located in the Vault of Braccus Rex in the Dark Cavern of the Hollow Marshes
  • Hands of the Tyrant - located in the Tower of Braccus Rex in one of the sarcophagus behind the magic wall in the Hollow Marshes
  • Tyrant's Stride - located in the [[DOS2:[Ancient Passage|[Ancient Passage]] under Fort Joy
  • Tracks of the Tyrant - located on the dead body of Lorenzo atop a tower at   X: 427  Y: 298   in the Hollow Marshes

Walkthrough

Upon reaching the ancient passage in Withermoore's Soul Jar, two statues can be found on the east and west sides. Interacting with the west side statue at   X: 362  Y: 552  , a wits check will be performed. With at least 15 wits, you will pass the persuasion check and receive the Tyrant's Stride, the leggings for this armour set. This is the only piece of the armour set found in Fort Joy.

Upon reaching the Hollow Marshes, the other four pieces may be found in any order.

Tracks of the Tyrant, the boots of this armour set, is found atop a tower located at   X: 429  Y: 295  . You must have a teleportation ability in order to retrieve this armour piece from Lorenzo's body.

After saving Gareth in Most Dangerous When Cornered, near the 'Hollow Marshes - Ruined Castle' waypoint is a door at   X: 468  Y: 240   associated with The Armoury. Completing this quest gives you the Tyrant's Helm, the helmet for this armour set.

Upon completing the The Vault of Braccus Rex, the Heart of the Tyrant, the chest armour, is found on the floor in the same room as Trompdoy's soul jar.

Lastly, the Hands of the Tyrant, the gloves for this set, can be found inside a coffin in the Tower of Braccus Rex after completing The Gargoyle's Maze. The tower, associated with A Fate Worse than Death, is protected by 3 undead necromancers. At the northernmost end of the tower, using a source point can deactivate the barrier leading you to the two coffins. You must have 18+ strength in order to open the coffin lids.

Wearing all 5 armour pieces at the same time removes the individual cursed effects.
