Otho is a temperamental dwarf who is critical of other races. He initially distrusts the player character, suggesting that they bother "the elf" because Template:Icon DD might not mind the human stench of pig flesh.
Despite his burly demeanor, Otho is treating the injured soldier Template:Icon DD in his house. He believes both Verlat and Template:Icon DD will die because the healers lost their connection with the Source, which limits their healing ability. The only alternative is to use the last healing gem from Template:Icon DD shrine but both Otho and Goemoe are forbidden to cause death, even if they save a life. If they heal one soldier, the other is doomed.
