The Dark Cavern is a cave in the Hollow Marshes of Divinity: Original Sin II. On the minimap, it is labeled 'Mysterious Cave' at   X: 516  Y: 70  .

Background

There are magic platforms that appear when stepped on. Past the first two magic platforms is the first Trompdoy encounter. Traverse the cave to the 'Mysterious Room' and interact with the statue at the center of the room at   X: 634  Y: 542   to proceed. The riddle is solved by looking at the word to which the letter corresponds to.

'BRACCUS is a bloody, rotten, thieving, very, very, awful fellow. Some even call him a cur! A CUR is...?'

Braccus is a B - bloody, R - rotten, A - thieving, C - very, C - very, U - awful, S - fellow. CUR = very, awful, rotten

'SOURCE is a scourge, a devil, a misery, a blight, a hex, a curse. And yet, the CURE is...

Source is a S - a scourge, O - a devil, U - a misery, R - a blight, C - a hex, E - a curse. CURE = a hex, a misery, a blight, a curse.

On the minimap, you can see that the correct door is on the north wall on the left side at   X: 645  Y: 548  . Past the next two invisible platforms is the second Trompdoy encounter. Keep exploring the area to the 'Madman's Enclave' for a room full of gold and soul jars. The very last encounter with Trompdoy is seen at the end of this room, regardless of your choice. The soul jars found may be used for the quests The Eternal Worshipper, A Fate Worse than Death, and The Vault of Braccus Rex. Additionally, the Heart of the Tyrant piece from the Artefacts of the Tyrant can be found here.

Just outside of the 'Madman's Enclave' is a statue at   X: 690  Y: 509   which can be interacted with to learn the Bless skill if you have not yet made it to the Hall of Echoes through the Tower of Braccus Rex.
