The House of Shadows is shrouded in myth and legend. As any reasonable lizard will attest, the Ancient Empire consists of three Houses that fail to include any resemblance to a House of Shadows. The simple answer is, of course, that this so-called House is fabricated fiction, a sort of lie parents tell their children so they won't misbehave.

'No one knows the House of Shadows exists. Therein lies its victory. But we, the Dreamers, we know them, and we do not leave them to weave their black webs around our empire unperturbed. The mighty houses of War and Law: they are the true shadows, unaware of the dark sun that rules their days.'

Overview

If a House of Shadows were to exist, it would operate quietly in the background. Its members would be puppeteers: those who can see the great games in motion, from which they string along actors and weave around plots, all for the betterment and glory of the Empire.
