A Scholar from Times Past is an origin quest for Fane in Divinity: Original Sin II. This quest is available if selecting Fane as an origin character.

Objectives

Quest contents may vary based on party choices.

Escape this floating prison.
  • I am an Eternal, imprisoned aeons ago by my king. Now I'm free, but my people are gone. I've heard rumours of their structures being uncovered at the Blackpits. I must find them.
  • I must retrieve my mask from the witch, or craft a new one from Source Orbs and the ripped-off faces of the dead.
Escape the island.
  • I reached dry land, but am still far from my goal. I shall make my way forthwith to Reaper's Coast.
  • Adding insult to attempted murder, the Voidwoken here call me a traitor.
  • Amadia tells me that the King wiped out the Eternals. The Seven lords remain as gods, but my family and friends are gone.
  • I am the Lady's Godwoken, the last hope of my people. I am to compete for Divinity with the champions of the other lord-gods.
  • Amadia's priestess is undead! There is more naked bone here than expected, once you look under the covers.
Venture to the Blackpits.
  • Reaper's Coast. What a charming rustic wasteland. Maybe in the Blackpits I can confirm Amadia's tale. Did the God King destroy my people?
Search the Blackpits.
  • There are Eternal relics in the Blackpits! My people were here. I should find my answers close by.
Seek to know more.
  • With my research on the Veil, the Seven stole my people's Source and went to war with the King. Aetera failed to defeat them. The Seven cast the King and the Eternals into the Void. Aetera blames me.
Explore the Nameless Isle.
  • Much Eternal technology remains on the island. It feels familiar, and yet alien. I may be spending too much time with mortals.
Explore the Academy.
  • We've uncovered the Academy where I did my research! Where my old life ended! Perhaps here, a new life begins...
  • A Voidwoken - or an Eternal - or whatever they are - offered me the God King's Covenant. Naturally, I refused.
Claim Divinity for yourself.
  • The stolen fountainhead of Divinity is hidden deep in the Academy. Mortals kill for it, but my people are the rightful owners.
Divinity beckons...
  • Having stolen the Source that was stolen by the Gods, Dallis fled with the Aeteran to Arx. Whatever she's up to, it can't be good.
  • A Voidwoken turned out to be my assistant Harina! She begged me to free the Eternals from the God King and bring them back to the world.
Quest complete.
  • We are who we are. I have returned the Eternals to the world, and the God King with them. Justice is done.
