Make a Brave Face of It is a companion sub-quest for Fane in Divinity: Original Sin II. These objectives are available if Fane is a party companion.

Objectives

Craft a new mask.
Until he finds his mask or makes a new one, Fane needs to keep his skeletal face covered. Fane needs to find a 'face ripper' - or find someone who can make one.

Find Kniles.
Fane asked a blacksmith for a device to rip the faces off corpses. She angrily directed him to the dungeons and someone called 'Kniles'.

Craft a new Mask of the Shapeshifter.
With the face-ripper, Fane will tear the faces from corpses and combine them with Source Orbs to make a Mask of the Shapeshifter.

Reclaim the mask.
The witch who stole Fane's shapeshifter mask seemed to commune with an otherworldly presence.

Quest complete.
Fane retrieved his Mask of the Shapeshifter.

Walkthrough

After recruiting Fane to the party, he asks the blacksmith Nebora for a face-ripping tool. Alarmed, she directs him to Kniles in The Flenser's Playground. Kniles is willing to trade a Face-ripper for Atusa's Leg.

After escaping Fort Joy, confront Windego near the shoreline of the Hollow Marshes at   X: 380  Y: 246  . Retrieve Fane's Mask of the Shapeshifter from her corpse and place it in Fane's inventory, completing the quest.
